The president and first lady entertained supporters with some flirtatious back and forth banter at a fundraiser Tuesday night at the Gotham Theater in New York City.
It was FLOTUS’ turn first. “It is great to be in New York and it’s great to be here with my husband because the truth is, we rarely get to travel together anymore,” Michelle Obama admitted, saying that the event was like their date night. “So I’d like to thank all of you for a really intimate night — a little dinner, Alicia Keys was a really nice touch — who knows what might happen?” she continued, according to the White House pool report.
She went on to compliment the president’s looks, mainly the more-salt-than-pepper hair he’s been sporting since moving into the White House. “I think it’s sexy,” she added.
When it was the president’s turn to speak, he returned the favor. “You notice how she’s getting cuter,” President Obama said. “She is remarkable and it’s the reason why I’ve got remarkable kids, I have improved my gene pool.” Though he did say that a large fundraiser was not exactly the ideal setting for a romantic evening. “Normally our dates do not end with me being before 400 of our closest friends,” the president said.
