Congressional Democrats ran a victory lap around House Republicans following Friday’s announcement that the American Health Care Act would not be brought up for a vote after it became all but certain the bill would not pass.
“Hey Republicans, don’t worry, that burn is covered under the Affordable Care Act,” Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., tweeted on Friday evening.

California Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, criticized Trump and jokingly offered some names of people the president could blame for the GOP-controlled House’s bill flop.
“Art of the Squeal: I blame Democrats for a bill Republicans couldn’t pass. I blame Obama. I blame Australian Prime Minister & Meryl Streep,” Schiff wrote.

“I love irony,” tweeted Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif. “Art of the Deal @RealDonaldTrump became the greatest validator of #Obamacare. He was unable to come up with a better plan.”
Even Hillary Clinton, who has remained mostly out of the public eye since losing the presidential election four months ago, chimed in to praise Democrats for refusing to support the replacement bill.
“Today was a victory for all Americans,” Clinton wrote in a statement shared via tweet.

Leading progressive Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said the failed bill was a victory for Americans and Democrats, but stopped short of chiding President Trump to the same extent as her colleagues.
“I’m not doing a touchdown dance today. Not when the GOP is still hell-bent on rigging the system for the rich & powerful,” Warren wrote.

Today is a great day for the people of Massachusetts & people across the country who depend on the Affordable Care Act.
