Official who ran Solyndra loan program resigns

An official at the Department of Energy who ran the loan guarantee program that backed bankrupt solar panel manufacturer Solyndra has resigned, according to the Washington Post.

Jonathan Silver testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee last month, and deflected questions by emphasizing that he was tapped to head the DOE’s Loan Programs Office in Nov. 2009, which was months after the Solyndra loan was made.
