David Letterman’s classic “Top 10” segment had a political twist on Monday night with “Top 10 Things a Presidential Candidate Should Never Say.”
There was no way Letterman was going to get through the bit without referencing Hillary Clinton’s claim that her family is “not well-off.”
“Net worth of the Clintons is estimated at $100 million,” Letterman read from a sheet on his desk.
“Well they’re not well-off,” Paul Shaffer, Letterman’s sidekick, joked. Letterman agreed.
“You’re lucky to get downtown on 100 million.”
Another of Letterman’s jokes during the segment was, “Experience? Well, I’ve opened a dance studio,” which, despite the topical nature of “experience,” did not seem to be directed at President Obama.
