Rep. Joe Kennedy, D-Mass., who was mocked Tuesday night for his shiny lips as he responded to President Trump’s State of the Union, showed up for a TV interview Wednesday morning with a decidedly unshiny mouth.
“Oddly enough, I decided to go a little bit light on the chapstick this morning,” Kennedy said when asked if he brought his chapstick with him. “More on the coffee, light on the chapstick, which was probably a wise choice.”

Many on Twitter noticed the shiny corners of Kennedy’s mouth as he spoke, and speculated that he applied a little too much lip balm to fight off the lip-chapping cold that has hit the northeast.
