C-SPAN has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to break with tradition and allow television cameras to broadcast the historic oral arguments in the national health care suit.
“The court’s decision to schedule at least five-and-a-half hours or argument indicates the significance of this case,” President Brian Lamb wrote in a letter to Chief Justice John Roberts.

He continued, “We believe the public is best served by live television coverage of this particular oral argument. It is a case which will affect every American’s life, our economy, and will certainly be an issue in the upcoming presidential campaign.”
