In the war over free speech, a group of Trump supporters took to the streets of Berkeley, California donned in MAGA gear and waving Trump flags to see if any liberal Berkeley residents would get triggered and start a game of fisticuffs in a social experiment.
The band of MAGA bros live streamed their social experiment on Saturday night to preview their “No to Marxism in America” rally on August 27th. The 10 members of the group walked along Shattuck and Telegraph Avenues for two hours, and let everyone know that they were trying to get a reaction from “normy” liberal residents.

“Pretty much my hometown is a liberal Marxist stronghold,” one member of the group and a Berkeley native said at the beginning of the stream. “The vast majority of the people here hate [Trump] with a passion. Since we actually love the guy with a passion, we’re going to see if we can maybe trigger some snowflakes, something like that. But most of all it’s nice to see we’re here to exercise our freedom of speech and our freedom of expression.”
The group of Trump supporters got into a few shouting matches with triggered residents in which insults were hurled, but no fighting actually took place.
Berkeley Antifa tweeted the group’s whereabouts and even claimed victory when the Trump supporters called it a night around 8:30pm.
Props to #Berkeley locals tonight. Antifa wasn’t even out there and the right wing trolls were still too scared to stay for long. #winning

Outside of the violence that took place in February when conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos was forced off of UC-Berkeley’s campus and in April following Ann Coulter getting cancelled, Berkeley has been rather quiet. If anything, things have become petty between Antifa and Trump supporters.
Antifa could be laying low in the United States for a reason (even though they set Hamburg, Germany on fire last week). After James T. Hodgkinson attempted to assassinate House Majority Whip Steve Scalise in June, the media is finally start to notice the rise of left-wing extremism. In New Jersey, Antifa was labeled as a domestic terror group, and currently there’s a White House petition to get President Trump to label them terrorists as well.
While provoking left-wing extremist attacks in Berkeley may appear unwise for this band of Trump supporters over the weekend, remember that you shouldn’t have to cower in fear from violence over your political views no matter where you fall on the spectrum, especially in the United States of America.
