A Massachusetts man was arrested on Monday and charged with seven counts of negligent homicide for a weekend crash in New Hampshire that killed seven and hospitalized three motorcyclists. Volodymyr Zhukovskyy, 23, hit the bikers and careened off the two lane highway, where his truck was found in flames, according to witnesses. He was not hospitalized for any injuries resulting from the crash. New Hampshire officials announced that he had been arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice by Massachusetts state police. New Hampshire had issued a warrant for his arrest on counts of negligent homicide.
The crash occurred on Friday afternoon as the Jarhead Motorcycle Club riders were headed to a New Hampshire charity event. The club was created for active duty or honorably discharged Marines and their spouses to ride together and support their community in New England. A GoFundMe page set up for crash victims and their families stated of the seven deaths, “Our pack was struck by an oncoming vehicle and we lost 5 patch holders and 2 supporters, and many others are injured. Our club and the families are going to need help and we cannot do it alone.”
Identities of the riders killed were released on Sunday as Jo-Ann and Edward Corr, both 58; Michael Ferazzi, 62; Albert Mazza, 49; Daniel Pereira, 58; Aaron Perry, 45; and Desma Oakes, 42.
