Teen charged in animal slashing
A 17-year-old Herndon boy has been charged in connection with the slashing and stabbing of animals in and near Frying Pan Farm Park, authorities said.

The boy was charged with four felony counts of maiming animals, three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and two counts of unlawful entry, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
On April 26, three horses were stabbed on property adjacent to the Herndon-area park. In May, two goats, a calf and a chicken were cut at the park’s Kidwell Barn. The suspect was arrested Saturday afternoon following a tip that police received Friday. Police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said all of the animals involved are still alive.
Warehouse worker accused of $40,000 theft
A Waldorf man has been accused of stealing more than $40,000 in jewelry and clothing from a department store warehouse and selling it out of his house.
Prince George’s County police said Donnell Angelo Norman, 32, worked at the Nordstrom warehouse in Bowie, where he opened boxes and smuggled merchandise into his vehicle.
Police recovered $2,000 in stolen merchandise from his vehicle and $38,000 in jewelry and clothing from his residence.
