National Guard DC deployment to cost extra $1.4 billion

The Pentagon’s deployment of National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., is projected to cost an additional $1.4 billion through the end of President Donald Trump’s term, according to information provided to Congress and confirmed by the Washington Examiner.

The estimate, which covers October 2026 through January 2029, comes on top of the hundreds of millions of dollars already spent on the mission.
