One man was found dead Sunday with gunshot wounds to his legs and back.
The second was found alive under a viaduct but in critical condition, and he died shortly after reaching a local hospital, according to police. The third victim also died at a hospital. He had been brought in with multiple gunshot wounds in his shoulder.
“It sounded like an automatic weapon going off, probably 20 to 30 shots in very quick succession,” a witness of a Sunday shooting in the city’s River North neighborhood said.
The day before that incident, a 16-year-old boy was wounded by gunfire in a possible drug deal gone wrong, police said. He was allegedly shot in the leg after two unknown men brandished a firearm.
Roughly 4,000 people have been shot this year in Chicago, according to a report.
