Donald Trump’s campaign manager said Monday that Capitol Hill has a fair number of lawmakers with their own sex-related scandals, and said “they know who they are,” and that they should reflect before condemning the comments he made in a video that was released on Friday.
“That’s a bipartisan problem in Washington, D.C., and I won’t go any further into it, but they know who they are, and I just wanted to make the point very simply that people do get on their high horses,” Kellyanne Conway said on Fox News Monday morning. “They do cast that first stone and they ought to really reflect. They ought to look inside and think about what their conduct and words have been over the years.”
That was her response after being asked if lawmakers in Washington are hypocrites for abandoning Trump after the video was released. She made similar remarks Sunday night after the debate.
Conway denied Trump has ever condoned sexual assault before implying she “may have” been victimized by DC politicians when she was “younger and prettier” during in interview with Fox’s Megyn Kelly immediately following in the debate.
Trump has been roundly criticized after the release of a 2005 video where he said he could do “anything” to women, including “grabbing them by the pussy,” because he is “a star.” When asked to confirm former Republican Ben Carson’s claim that after a discussion with Trump more similar tapes are expected to be leaked, Conway said “I would know nothing about that.”
