Waaaaah! Who’s really ‘unfunny?’ Conservatives or Comedy Central?

Last night, conservatives once again owned Twitter. This time, instead of sabotaging an AstroTurf attempt by the Obama campaign to attack Romney, (as conservatives have been doing this week like it was their job and they are up for a promotion…and a bonus) their target was Gonzalo Cordova.

He drew conservatives’ ire when he wrote a piece titled “Conservative Hashtag Games are Ruining Twitter” for Comedy Central’s blog Indecision.

In the article he says that he doesn’t have a problem “with these hashtag games politically. I have a problem with these hashtag games comedically.”

Cordova then provides a few examples of what he thinks are unfunny tweets and proceeds to analyze exactly why they are “unfunny.” How…humorous…of him…

Actually, it is more like what that “one friend” of yours does. You make a pretty funny joke and they tell you that, scientifically-speaking, it just isn’t possible. “Obnoxious,” that’s the word.

Thusly #FunnierThanCordova was born. Twitchy got a hold of it and it was trending in no time.

Cordova weakly attempted to defend himself by stating that he hates ALL hashtag games. As @CollegePolitico correctly asked “Why single out conservatives in your post if that’s the case?”

Surprisingly, Cordova answered with what I think is the truth: Because Liberals stink at twitter.

He’s right. And that’s not all they stink at.

Comedy Central, once one of the major influencers of young America, is slowing losing touch. They were down 15% in primetime in the first quarter of the year.

Add to that the fact that “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” combined, are being beat by “Swamp People.”

So really, liberals are stinking at comedy in general. Ironically, while Comedy Central’s “unfunny” is being documented, they are telling conservatives that they are “unfunny.”

The fact of the matter is that liberals are getting beat at their own game and they are unnerved or maybe even annoyed about it. Why did Cordova single out conservatives?

Yes, because liberals stink at twitter. We are well aware. But maybe the converse of that is bit more accurate: Because conservatives are good at twitter.
