A man is accused of embezzling $50,000 from a Loudoun County youth football group.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Raymond J. Taylor was arrested Thursday in connection with the theft. He allegedly stole the funds from the Upper Loudoun Youth Football League between February and September, when he was president of the league.

He is charged with six counts of felony embezzlement, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities began investigating Taylor in late September after league board members found irregularities in the group’s financial accounts, according to the sheriff’s office.
