Paul Ryan: I will return to claim Budget gavel

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will return the House and resume his duties as chairman of the Budget Committee, putting aside immediate questions about the Wisconsin Republican’s future in D.C.

But even some of Ryan’s closest colleagues in the House wonder how long he can stay — or what his relationship will be with Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other party leaders — as he keeps an eye on a possible White House run in 2016.

“I am immensely proud of the campaign we ran, and I remain grateful to Governor Romney for the honor of being his running mate,” Ryan said in a statement released on Wednesday morning.
