Somebody must have slipped Texas Gov. Rick Perry a Red Bull before tonight’s debate, because he’s shown more energy than in any previous contests. In the most heated exchange of the debate, Perry went after Romney for being a hypocrite on immigration because he had illegal immigrants mowing his lawn and once supported amnesty.
Romney argued that he merely employed a lawn care company that turned out to have illegal immigrants working there. The normally cool Romney got visibly angry at Perry for interrupting him, at one point accusing Perry of being angry because he had some bad debates.
At another point, when Perry said he had experience handling the border issue, Romney shot back and said it was like a college football coach who lost 40 games in a row touting his experience.
