Woman sexually assaulted by armed man in Fairfax woods
A young woman was dragged into a wooded area in Burke and sexually assaulted at knifepoint.
Fairfax County police said the 24-year-old woman was walking on the 9700 block of Commonwealth Boulevard when a man grabbed her from behind and pulled her into nearby woods at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect fled after he was startled by a noise, and the woman summoned help.
Police described the suspect as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall and wearing a sweatshirt.
Arlington homicide-free for 2 years
Arlington County has gone two years without a homicide, police said, the first time that has happened since its police department was formed in 1940.
Chief M. Douglas Scott said Arlington reached the milestone due to good policing, medical care, prosecution and community cooperation.
The most recent homicide in Arlington took place March 14, 2010, when 20-year-old Cain Guevara-Estrada was found with stab wounds lying on a sidewalk in the Lyon Park area. Anner Rouben Hernandez-Estrada, 20, was charged with murder.
Man guilty in drug-trafficking conspiracy
A man accused of being a leader in a local drug-trafficking ring pleaded guilty in federal court in D.C.
Keith Gaston, 40, formerly of Silver Spring, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute powder and crack cocaine, prosecutors said. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 20.
Officials said Gaston was the leader of a drug-trafficking ring that operated largely in Prince George’s County and around Seventh and O streets NW in the District. Seventeen people were arrested in connection with the ring in August.
