Five to watch at the Tour Championship

Dustin Johnson Johnson is one of five players who controls his destiny at the Tour Championship. With a win, he would capture the FedEx Cup. The others in the same position are Webb Simpson, Justin Rose, Luke Donald and Matt Kuchar.

Keegan Bradley

The only 2011 major champion in the field of 30, Bradley likely would clinch PGA Tour player of the year honors with a victory in the Tour Championship. Tiger Woods captured player of the year honors nine of the last 14 years.

Phil Mickelson

He won the Tour Championship in 2009. When he was crowned, it was a dual ceremony as Tiger Woods won the FedEx Cup. In 2008, BMW and Tour Championship winner Camilo Villegas shared the stage with Vijay Singh.

Adam Scott

The pairings for Thursday are determined by the FedEx Cup standings, so No. 19 Scott, the 2006 Tour Championship winner, will play with No. 20 Bradley. Both of them go long — off the tee and in their choice of putters.

Vijay Singh

The 2002 Tour Championship winner needs a strong showing to make it to his ninth President’s Cup team. The 48-year-old has had a bounce-back season. He was third at the Wyndham and fourth at the Barclays in consecutive weeks.
