Donald Trump holds a 22 point lead over all rivals in South Carolina in a new CBS poll released Sunday.
Trump leads Ted Cruz 42 percent to 20 percent, in the new CBS South Carolina Battleground Tracker released Sunday.
Marco Rubio comes in third, at 15 percent.
The poll released does not have data from days after Saturday’s GOP debate, where Trump is seen as taking a political gamble in how fiercely he attacked the legacy of President George W. Bush, who is still popular among Republicans in the state.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, though, received only 9 percent to 6 percent. Kasich is fresh off his second place finish in New Hampshire,.
Bush’s total puts him tied with retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who also polls at 6 percent.
Trump’s lead is slightly wider than in the same poll from January. In poll results for the CBS South Carolina Battleground Tracker released Jan. 24, Trump led Cruz, 40 percent to 21 percent.
