Women kicked out of comedy event after confronting Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein attended a lower Manhattan speakeasy for a comedy event, where two attendees were kicked out after confronting him.

The disgraced movie mogul was acknowledged by one of the female comedians at the Wednesday event for young actors, because said she wanted “to address the elephant in the room.”

“I didn’t know we had to bring our own Mace and rape whistles to Actor’s Hour,” comedian Kelly Bachman said during the event. Some audience members booed and one yelled “Shut up!” at the comedian.

“I’m comfortable enough to talk about my experience, but when I’m sitting in the room with a monster that people are supporting, it just sucked the air out of my chest,” she told BuzzFeed.

Weinstein was accompanied at the event with an entourage of young women and “older men in suits.” A male comedian who went after Bachman made light of the fact that she had singled out Weinstein.

“I’d like to address the elephant in the room,” the man said. “Who in this room produced Good Will Hunting? ‘Cause that shit was great.” The comedian went up and talked with Weinstein afterwards, according to Zoe Stuckless, who was eventually thrown out of the event.

Stuckless posted a video on Facebook of her yelling at Weinstein before she was approached and told to leave the event. Comedian Amber Rollo, 31, was also kicked out of the event after she called Weinstein “a fucking monster.” Rollo said one of the men with Weinstein called her a “[C-word]” after her comment.

“I am a rape survivor myself,” Rollo said after the event. “I thought that everyone agreed that [Weinstein] was a bad person. Other people are questionable; he’s the worst of the worst. I thought we all knew that.”

Weinstein, 67, has been accused by dozens of women of sexual assault and harassment. He has pleaded not guilty.

“We should all be offered the courtesy to voice opinions and be heard, and to even get answers,” Weinstein said in a statement. “I am glad we all still have these rights.”

His trial date is set for January.
