Even though she’s been spotted stepping out with hottie Brazilian model Jesus Lux, Madonna is reportedly not at all happy that rumored flame Alex Rodriguez is spending time with ex-wife Cynthia in Miami.
“Madge is pissed!” an inside source tells the New York Daily News. After the steroids scandal broke, “Alex ran right home to Cynthia, and to Madonna, this is the ultimate dis.”
“But Alex’s handlers want to make sure he’s as far from Madonna as possible,” the source explains. “He has enough negative publicity as it is.” (Gee, we hadn’t heard.)
While they’re apart, however, “Madonna and A-Rod have been burning up the phones, and she keeps on insisting that Jesus is just a PR stunt,” the insider relays. The disgraced Yankees slugger “says he understands, and now he’s asking her to understand that salvaging his career is his priority.”
Now that the baseball star is playing hard to get, says the source, “Madge is totally making a play to get him back. She feels like she’s losing him, but Alex is only with Cynthia for comfort.”
“Meanwhile, Madonna just wishes he had come to her. She has been the subject of negative press her whole career, and she wants to help him understand that this too shall pass.”
But absence has evidently made Madonna’s heart grow fonder: “She’s so desperate to see Alex, she’s plotting a way that they can sneak out to the Hamptons to work things out,” says the source. “She wants to have some alone time.”
Personally, we’d pick the Brazilian boy toy over the tarnished jock, but that’s just us.
RIHANNA: REPEAT INCIDENT?
As fans continue to reel from the news of Sunday’s incident when Chris Brown allegedly beat and choked Rihanna, a new report claims it might not have been the first time things got physical between them.
A friend of the “Umbrella” singer is said to have revealed to Us magazine that in December, there were bruises evident on Rihanna’s neck.
“I asked if everything was OK with her and Chris,” the source recalls. “She told me, ‘We broke up again.’ I didn’t pursue the issue further.”
If this story is true, we’d really like to know why this so-called friend made no attempt to help Rihanna — and instead just opted to make a quick buck selling the tale.

Awkward alert! Justin Timberlake and girlfriend Jessica Biel reportedly had a run-in with his former squeeze Scarlett Johansson and her new hubby, Ryan Reynolds, at a Grammys after-party.
“At first, it was a bit weird and you could tell Jessica felt a little awkward, but as they all started drinking and hanging out, it was cool,” an eyewitness recalled to In Touch.
Apparently the photogenic quartet’s inhibitions were successfully relaxed, since “by the end of the night, Justin and Ryan were laughing and the foursome were all sharing the same table.”
