Democrats’ radical abortion stance on display as Nebraska bans dismemberment abortions

While Democrats prepare to couch their support for abortion in the euphemisms of women’s health and reproductive rights during their convention this week, the state of Nebraska showed exactly what it is the Democratic Party is fighting for.

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts on Saturday signed into law a bill prohibiting the dilation and evacuation method of abortion, more colloquially known as dismemberment abortion. As the law defines it, a dismemberment abortion, “purposely dismembers the body of a living unborn child and extracts him or her one piece at a time from the uterus through use of … instruments that … slice, crush, or grasp a portion of the unborn child’s body to cut or rip it off.”

The law is rather narrow in scope. It doesn’t apply if suction is used to dismember the child, and it includes exceptions to save the life of the mother and if the child has already died in the womb.

Limiting this one form of abortion, where a baby is killed in the womb and then removed in pieces, seems like a reasonable restriction to everyone but the Democratic Party, which led the opposition. The American Civil Liberties Union, an advocacy arm for the Democratic Party that pretends to still care about constitutional rights, has vowed to fight the law in the courts. Meanwhile, Democrats will look to present themselves as a centrist party during the Democratic National Convention this week.

Joe Biden has called for taxpayer dollars to be used to fund abortions, and the Democratic Party platform calls for that to extend to other countries across the world as well by repealing the Mexico City Policy. Kamala Harris said during her presidential run that she would have the Justice Department void state laws if she deemed them to violate the constitutional abomination of Roe v. Wade, which is to say she would void any and all laws that could be construed as a restriction on abortion access.

It’s no secret why pro-lifers have been willing to put up with Donald Trump’s excesses when Democrats are willing to fight for the supposed right to kill and dismember unborn children in the womb. The Biden-Harris ticket will be the most pro-abortion ticket in history, and, as the executive branch becomes even more powerful, the Democratic Party’s increasingly radical abortion platform will continue to be a major rallying point for the Republican Party. As it should be.
