A second former player came forward with allegations of sexual abuse by a soccer coach from Takoma Park, Montgomery County Police said.
Authorities charged 38-year-old Roger Misael Fernandez with two additional counts of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of fourth-degree sexual offense. The second victim came forward after officers arrested Fernandez last week on charges that he molested a 17-year-old player at the Real Maryland FC Soccer Club offices in Silver Spring. The second victim, also 17, said he was sexually abused at a Gaithersburg hotel.
Real Maryland said the teams have cut all ties with Fernandez, who had been the head coach for several boys’ teams. Anyone with information about Fernandez can call police at 240-773-5422.
