Much of what Dr. Ruth Westheimer said during a Tuesday luncheon we can’t print, but that was her whole point — Americans need to be more comfortable talking about sex.
Dr. Ruth was the special guest at National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association’s Griswold v. Connecticut gala luncheon, dishing out her honest, to-the-point — not to mention hilarious — bits of sex ed.
She wouldn’t talk her political viewpoints with us or dish out any advice on President Barack Obama and Michelle’s love life, but the diminutive doctor had plenty to say about sex in general.
“A sexual encounter should be like a glass of wine,” Dr. Ruth told Yeas & Nays. “You need to take your time, look at it, savor it, touch it, sip it before you drink it. That’s a good sexual encounter.” She also added that “the best lover, even one trained by me, needs the woman to tell him what feels good.”
And to those who risked writing a sexual question to her on the cards that were passed around may have their question answered one day.
“All those questions cards I take home,” Dr. Ruth informed that crowd. “That’s how I have 36 books.”
