The famous Hope Diamond is rocking a new setting to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The Smithsonian’s elite gem was revealed on Thursday in its modernized setting. The design, crafted by Harry Winston in New York, will be displayed for a year in the Museum of Natural History. The new setting, “Embracing Hope,” was one of three possibilities voted on by more than 100,000 people. In addition to the celebration of the 45.52-carat diamond’s anniversary, the Harry Winston Foundation announced a $1 million grant to the Smithsonian for mineral sciences education.
