Carjackers use vehicle to ram victims

D.C. police are looking for suspects in a carjacking in which another vehicle was used to ram the rear of the victim’s car. About 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, a 2008 black Lexus was rear-ended while driving in the 400 block of Oklahoma Avenue NE. When the Lexus driver got out to assess the damage, a man got out of the other car, jumped into the Lexus and drove away. A man in the other car, believed to be a dark colored Chevy Malibu, drove away. The Lexus had a Maryland temporary plate of T307052. The first carjacker is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, slim build with dreadlocks, wearing a dark colored jumpsuit with yellow stripes across the chest and down the arms and legs. The second carjacker is described as a black male, wearing all dark clothing. Police said similar offense occurred a few blocks away in the 1600 block of C Street NE on Oct. 27.

Metro police using decoys

Metro Transit Police have a message for potential criminals: The next person you try to rob may be a police officer. Plainclothes officers used decoy bicycles and electronic devices to arrest 47 people last month for purse snatching or bicycle thefts in the Metro system. They also made separate arrests for assault, drugs and weapons possession, police said. Police warn Metro riders to avoid sitting or standing near train or bus doors while using high-end electronics and other valuable items.

Pentagon police to conduct live-fire test

Pentagon police officials are warning people that they might hear shots fired near the military building this weekend, but there’s nothing to worry about. The Pentagon Force Protection Agency is planning to conduct a live-fire calibration test on Sunday between 6 a.m. and noon. Such exercises are done to test gunfire-detection systems.
