Police investigating jewelry store robbery at mall

Police say hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry was stolen from a store at the Mall in Columbia during an armed robbery Thursday.

The robbery happened at about 12:45 p.m. at Edward Arthur Jewelers, located on the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway. Howard County police said three men entered the store, displayed a gun and demanded jewelry from one of the cases.

The three suspects fled with the jewelry. No one was injured in the robbery.

Police would not disclose the exact value of the stolen items, but said the jewelry was valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars.

One suspect is described as a black man wearing a green plaid shirt and a black Vancouver Grizzlies hat with a teal brim.

The second suspect is described as a black man wearing a black and gray jacket and a black Cincinnati Reds cap that had a red brim.

The third suspect is a black man who was wearing a gray jacket and a white Chicago Bulls hat that had a black brim.

A reward of $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the men’s identities. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-STOP.
