Free stroke screenings at Foggy Bottom

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and free stroke screenings are being offered Friday outside the Foggy Bottom Metro station on the GW Plaza. Physicians and nurses will provide stroke-risk evaluations along with information to help lower stroke risk and save lives. Stroke is the third-leading cause of death in the United States. The free screenings will run from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 900 23rd St. NW. For information, call 888-4GW-DOCS (49-3627). The event is being put on by the George Washington University Hospital, the GWU Medical Faculty Associates and the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
