County police to hold awards ceremony

Howard County Police will recognize officers, civilian employees and volunteers for outstanding contributions made to the community Wednesday during the department?s annual awards ceremony.

The 2006 Police Awards Ceremony will include awards for Police Officer of the Year, Outstanding Community Service, Civilian of the Year and Life-Saving Efforts, police said.

The ceremony will be at 6 p.m. in the Howard Building, 3430 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City.

Howard County Chief of Police William McMahon, County Executive Ken Ulman and County Council Chairman Calvin Ball will present awards to the winners.
