D.C. man gets 21 years for child sex abuse

A D.C. man was sentenced to 21 years in prison for sexually abusing three girls under the age of 12.

Charles G. Pettis, 39, pleaded guilty in May in D.C. Superior Court to charges of first-degree child sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances, attempted first-degree child sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances, and second-degree child sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances. He was sentenced by the Judge Lynn Leibovitz.

The victims were between the ages of 7 and 11. Pettis must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
