Watch: Dem congressman eats Skittles during IRS impeachment hearing

Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D.-Ill., took a shot at Donald Trump Wednesday by eating Skittles while questioning IRS Commissioner John Koskinen Wednesday during his impeachment hearing.

“Every now and then I get a bad Skittle,” Gutierrez said, adding that the few “bad” candies didn’t persuade him to “ban them all.”

The Illinois Democrat was referring to a controversial image shared on social media by Donald Trump’s son earlier this week that compared the ratio of potential terrorists in the Syrian refugee population to the number of deadly Skittles in a fictional bowl of candy.

Gutierrez also grilled Koskinen over a Washington Post report that suggested Trump’s charitable foundation had made frivolous purchases with money that had been donated.

“I can’t talk about individual cases, and if hypotheticals begin to look like individual cases, I’m not at liberty to give opinions,” Koskinen said.

“Every case is different,” he added when pressed to characterize Trump’s actions as illegal.
