Second arrest in Caribbean festival gang slaying

A second man has been arrested in the shooting death of a bystander at Caribbean festival in Northwest Washington.

Deonte J. Bryant, of Northwest Washington, was charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of 43-year-old Robert Foster Jr. of D.C.

Foster got caught in the crossfire of warring gangs in the 700 block of Gresham Street NW near the parade route of the June 26 festival. Three others, including one of the alleged shooters, were wounded.

Police said 19-year-old Terry Jiminez stalked his rival gang members and opened fired in the crowded street. The targets returned fire, shooting Jiminez in the arm and causing him to lose his weapon. He was taken to a hospital and arrested.
