Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden put the pressure on his fellow candidates about their proposed healthcare plans during Thursday night’s debate in Houston.
Specifically citing “Medicare for all” plans proposed by liberal candidates Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, Biden questioned the financial viability of the proposed plans.
“How are we going to pay for it?” Biden asked of the candidates as they enthusiastically touted the benefits of a single-payer health insurance system.
Biden has been outspoken during his campaign that he would not remove private health insurance options from anyone and that he would actively work to preserve the benefits and standards of the Affordable Care Act that was a signature accomplishment of President Barack Obama.
