President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will host Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison for an official visit and state dinner on Sept. 20, the White House announced in a statement Monday.
“The visit will celebrate our two countries’ close friendship and shared history, and reaffirm our common vision for global peace, security, and prosperity,” the statement read.
The September event will mark the second time since taking office that Trump has hosted a state dinner. The first was with French President Emmanuel Macron in April 2018.

The last time an Australian prime minister was invited to a state dinner was when President George W. Bush hosted John Howard in 2006.
