While Democrat Wendy Davis was running one of the worst campaigns for governor the state of Texas had ever seen, she also had to give up her seat in the state Senate.

Davis was quickly replaced by Konni Burton, a veteran of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz’s campaign.

Burton had promised her Fort Worth constituents that she would replace Davis’ pro-choice vote with a pro-life one.

“The reason I got in was because of this fiscal mess our country is in,” Burton said in 2013. “But if she wants to make this about life, bring it.”

Davis rose to prominence after her 13-hour filibuster of an abortion bill, all while wearing pink sneakers.

Burton used that fact to troll her predecessor before she was sworn into the Texas legislature.

She updated her Facebook page Tuesday morning with the boots she would be wearing.
