Many Twitter users expressed excitement over the new cat, while others thought it was a ploy to distract from the several critical crises the Biden administration is currently facing, including the state of the economy and the possibility of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“First Cat Willow is pawsitively purrfect,” Democrat Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii wrote in response to the news.
