Bob Ehrlich will reveal the identity of his gubernatorial running mate first to his Facebook followers, the former Maryland governor announced in a video posted to his profile Monday.
Ehrlich, who is expected to formally file for candidacy with the State Board of Elections this week, has been using his Facebook page to post campaign photos, videos and press releases for months. Ehrlich has held “town hall” discussions on his page and used the forum frequently to pounce on his opponent, Gov. Martin O’Malley, who has less than half the online “followers” Ehrlich has.
O’Malley has been using his Facebook page in the same fashion, but only boasts about 10,000 followers next to Ehrlich’s 25,000.
Ehrlich is expected to announce his running mate by Thursday.
