Trump claimed FBI ‘rolled over’ for Clinton two hours before revelations

Two hours before former the FBI announced they are reviewing newly discovered emails pertaining to the Hillary Clinton investigation, Donald Trump said in an interview that the FBI and the Department of Justice “rolled over” by not recommending an indictment or indicting Clinton over her email situation.

Trump, along with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, touched on what happened during an interview with Fox News a mere two hours before the news broke that FBI Director James Comey will reexamine the email situation after new emails were found on devices owned by top Clinton aide Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner. They were found on a laptop Weiner allegedly used to send inappropriate messages and pictures to an underaged girl.

“The system is rigged when Hillary Clinton is allowed to run for president because what she did is criminal,” Trump said “What she did is — Gen. Cartwright is potentially going to serve five years in jail for doing nothing by comparison to what she did.

“The system is rigged when she’s allowed to run because she has done many criminal acts. She’s not allowed to run. She’s not allowed to be running in this election. And the FBI rolled over and the Department of Justice rolled over. They didn’t roll over for Gen. Cartwright. They didn’t roll over for Gen. Petraeus and the many other people that are in prison who’s lives have been — but when she’s allowed to run for office, the FBI rolled over.”

At his first campaign event of the day, Trump equated the Clinton email situation to Watergate, adding that he’s not sure the election is still being rigged after the latest development. He also praised the FBI for “righting this wrong” by looking into the matter further.

As for Clinton, she did not react to the latest news during any of her Friday stops on the campaign trail.
