Morning Examiner: Obama passes on gun control fight

Some in his party may want to use Friday’s shooting in Aurora, Colorado, as a an opportunity to move gun control legislation through Congress, but President Obama wants none of it.

Yesterday on CBS’ “Face The Nation,” New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg called gun violence “an enormous problem for the country” and asked Obama to re-embrace his position on “banning things like assault weapons.” And on “Fox News Sunday,” Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., said, “My thoughts are these — pure and simple — weapons of war don’t belong on the streets.”
