DUI, manslaughter charges in death of 8-year-old

A Fairfax man is facing manslaughter and drunk driving charges after an 8-year-old boy was killed in an Alexandria crash.
Alexandria police said 22-year-old Victor Aldana was driving west on Duke Street near the Interstate 395 overpass when he veered off the road, hitting two pedestrians — a 31-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy. The boy, Brian Hernandez-Chavez, was killed. The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Aldana has been charged with DUI manslaughter, DUI maiming, reckless driving and driving without a license, police said Monday.
The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Body washes ashore near Annapolis
A body washed ashore from the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis.
Authorities were called to the scene around 8 a.m. Monday
Sgt. Art Windemuth of the Department of Natural Resources Police said the body was found along Chesapeake Harbor Drive south of Annapolis. Police have not identified the body.
Masked men rob armored car outside Walmart
Prince George’s County police are investigating the armed robbery of an armored truck outside a Walmart in Bowie.
About 8 a.m., three masked men used a handgun to hold up the Garda armored truck driver and make off with bags of cash. They fled in a stolen white van, which later was found nearby at a farm off Mill Branch Road.
Police said one of the men wore a skullcap and black clothing.
No injuries were reported.
