State of Play:
Sen. Michael Bennet, D, appointed to his position by an unpopular Democratic governor, is one of the nation’s most endangered incumbents. In the Democratic primary, he faces former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, considered by some the state’s enfant terrible of Democratic politics. Centennial State Republicans, meanwhile, seeking a comeback after three rough election cycles, will choose among four candidates, including former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton.
Primary election: August 5
