Many Republican officeholders agree with President Trump that CNN leans too Left to be fair.
But that doesn’t mean all the hosts and reporters are viewed by Republicans as clones of White House correspondent Jim Acosta.
Wolf Blitzer is one. On Wisconsin Republican Rep. Sean Duffy’s first podcast of the year he asked Texas Rep. Will Hurd who he likes on CNN and the conservative immediately named Blitzer. From “Sean Duffy’s Plaidcast”:
Duffy: OK, who is your favorite host on CNN?
Hurd: Wolf Blitzer. You know why I like Wolf? Because he asks conservative questions from a liberal perspective. But when he has liberal folks on he asks them questions from a conservative perspective. And so I appreciate that.
Duffy: And listen, Wolf is fair. And Wolf knows a lot — like you — on the foreign policy issues. Very well-informed. I’d also throw in that I like [Chris] Cuomo as well.
Hurd: I love Wolf. The first time I went on there. I’m in the studio, and he’s like, “Breaking News.” And I’m looking around, what happened? He creates this level of tension in the studio that I thought was very funny.
