By The Numbers: Dating in the District

Single in the city?

Aw, don’t worry, you’re not the only one who’s logging on and looking for love in the District.

According to research from Match.com, Washington, D.C., comes in at No. 5 for the number of single subscribers who are searching for a little somethin’ on the site. Miami ranked No. 1.

Match.com reports this was the most active summer in the online dating company’s 15 year-history, with “33.5 percent more winks and e-mails compared to summer of 2009.”

If you missed out on a sizzling summer romance, Labor Day traditionally is one of the most popular days for singles to sign on and scour profiles, so single Washingtonians still have time to sign on and snag a picnic date.
