Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has instructed son-in-law Ben Domenech to look after daughter Meghan McCain as he continues to fight an aggressive form of brain cancer, according to local media.
“John hugged me tonight. He asked me to take care of Meghan. I said I would. F–k you soulless crazies. F–k you all the way to hell,” Domenech, a conservative political commentator, wrote in a now-deleted tweet Saturday, per azcentral.com.
McCain last week returned home to his family’s ranch near Cornville, Ariz., after undergoing surgery in Phoenix on April 15, wife Cindy McCain suggested on Twitter Monday.
Cindy McCain also tweeted that he was in a stable condition a day after the senator’s April 15 procedure for an intestinal infection related to diverticulitis.
John McCain, 81, revealed he had been diagnosed with glioblastoma in July and has been in his home state since Dec. 17.
Meghan McCain wed Domenech in a pre-Thanksgiving ceremony in November after getting engaged shortly after the senator went public with his ill-health.
“He’s a very fine man. I’m very proud and very happy that they’re so happy together,” John McCain said of Domenech during an October guest appearance on “The View,” his daughter’s ABC daytime talk show.
