The Metro Transit Police received a $9.65 million grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to form a 20-member anti-terror unit.
The unit will be broken into five, four-person teams that will perform more police sweeps and random patrols of buses, trains and stations. The team, which will work alongside existing resources, will also beef up intelligence gathering and respond to calls of suspicious packages or threats.
