Not everyone was interested in watching the State of the Union address, or at least some decided to party beforehand.
Hundreds of people and pooches attended a Sugar & Champagne Affair on Wednesday night to benefit the Washington Humane Society. Ellen and Todd Gray of Equinox (where the Obamas dined last January) hosted and invited other top chefs such as Vidalia’s R.J. Cooper and Birch and Barley’s Kyle Bailey to create delicious dishes and desserts.
On the other side of town at Lebanese Taverna in downtown Bethesda, Sherry Moeller and Dannia Hakki threw a debut party for their public relations venture, MoKi Media, where R&B artist Ginuwine was spotted.
Was he planning to watch the State of the Union live?
“No,” he answered. “I’ll watch it on YouTube.’
