Brooklyn comedian and self-described vegan progressive Jamie Kilstein has offered to fight conservative author Jonah Goldberg. Kilstein penned an essay over the weekend challenging Goldberg on his comments that young voters are stupid for embracing socialism. “It’s something that conservatives have to work harder to beat out of them, either literally or figuratively,” he had said. (Goldberg later clarified that he “wasn’t serious about wanting to literally beat the socialism out of young kids.”)
But no matter — Kilstein has offered Goldberg three two-minute rounds in the ring “to give Jonah his opportunity to beat up someone who thinks socialism is better than capitalism.” Asked by Yeas & Nays how long the offer to fight stands, Kilstein replied “eternity.”
Kilstein might be waiting for nearly that long given Goldberg’s response to his challenge: “I don’t know who that is, nor do I care.”
