Fimian, Herrity camps trade barbs

Just days before the June 8 Republican primary in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District, the respective camps of Fairfax Supervisor Pat Herrity and Oakton businessman Keith Fimian are trading barbs.

Snarky barbs.

“Fimian is … attacking Pat’s transportation record,” Herrity campaign manager Frank Puleo wrote in an e-mail to supporters. “Unbelievably, Fimian has never been involved in transportation advocacy or a single project. Fimian also has no plan to ease traffic congestion. Period.”

“Fimian has not been involved in our community,” the e-mail continues. “If he had been he would be touting his involvements as reasons he should be elected.”

Meanwhile, in an e-mail to supporters titled “Hail to the Big Spenders,” Fimian campaign manager Tim Edson takes the Redskins theme and runs with it.

“Pat Herrity promised to spend our taxes wisely, but he wanted to spend $100,000 on a Redskins museum,” he wrote. “Voters should punt on Herrity.”

Zing!
