A Democrat who has made combating climate change the centerpiece of his 2020 presidential campaign was not invited to CNN’s upcoming town hall on the issue.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has not reached the threshold set by the cable news network to appear on stage during the Sept. 4 event in New York, CNN said Monday. Candidates need at least 2% support in at least four polls approved by the Democratic National Committee. The 2020 hopefuls have until Wednesday to qualify.
