Democrats mock Trump on his own turf with billboard about 2020 defeat

Democrats are planning to troll former President Donald Trump with a billboard jabbing him over his 2020 loss.

A truck donning a large screen will drive through the streets of Tampa flashing clips from Fox News showing Trump’s 2020 defeat alongside photos from the campaign with the caption, “81 million Americans voted for President Joe Biden (Most votes in history),” according to the Daily Mail. Trump is in Tampa, Florida, to speak at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit.

“Donald Trump, the 45th President in the United States, who stated in this process ‘I will never give up fighting for you and our nation,’ will be denied a second term,” Fox News’s Martha MacCallum declared in one of the clips, per the outlet. “That has not happened since 1992.”

Another clip from Fox News anchor Bret Baier describing Trump’s loss will also reportedly be played by the truck, trolling Trump ahead of his speech before a crowd of fawning young Republicans.

Trump has refused to concede that he legitimately lost the 2020 election, insisting that rampant voter fraud deprived him of victory — something that courts and experts have repeatedly rejected. During a rally in Arizona on Friday, Trump repeated those claims about the election.

The billboard comes on the heels of the House Jan. 6 committee’s eighth public hearing of the summer that detailed Trump’s reluctance to take action to counter the angry mob that stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6. Previous hearings explained how members of Trump’s orbit doubted that rampant fraud deprived him of victory and that Trump undertook efforts the overturn the election anyway.

“Over the last few weeks, we’ve learned just how deep Donald Trump’s conspiracy to overturn the will of 81 million Americans and stop the peaceful transfer of power went — helped along the way by cowardly MAGA Republicans like Kevin McCarthy and Marjorie Taylor Greene,” a spokesperson for the Democratic National Committee told the Daily Mail when asked about the billboard.

“The DNC is here to remind the disgraced former president that his MAGA agenda is wildly unpopular with the American people, no matter what tall tales he wants to tell,” the spokesperson added.
